Dedee on TVGuide Chat Dated 19991122 ==================================== TV Guide: Tonight we're chatting live with Dedee Pfeiffer from the WB's For Your Love. Welcome Dedee! Thanks for joining us tonight! Dedee Pfeiffer: Hello everybody! Question: How much like your character are you in real life? Dedee Pfeiffer: We're very similar in that we're both quirky and very silly. And love animals. The differences would be that she's married, I'm not. So right there that's a big difference. Question: Do you have much input on your character? Dedee Pfeiffer: Usually the scripts are already written, but many times they will see myself or the other actors doing spontaneous things and will allow this. Which then becomes a characteristic of the character. Question: Who are some of the actresses and actors you admire? Dedee Pfeiffer: Ah-ha! I LOVE Kevin Spacey and Antonio Banderas. Tommy Lee Jones. Gena Rowlands. Jessica Lange. And of course, I'm a big fan of my sister Michelle. Who now owes me big time! Question: How did you get the role on the show? Dedee Pfeiffer: I went in and read for the role of Sheri with many other actresses. And I guess the gods were with me that day because I landed the role. Question: When did you decide to go into acting? And what was your first big break? Dedee Pfeiffer: I started acting almost 18 years ago. And my big break was a ten dollar hooker in the movie Into the Night which the director Jon Landis gave me. Question: What is the rest of the cast like? Do you all get along off set? Dedee Pfeiffer: Yes, yes, yes. We absolutely love and adore each other. All the fun that you see within the characters truly exists with each other. Question: What has been your favorite role so far? Dedee Pfeiffer: Boy! I think I would have to say the role I'm playing now as Sheri. Because she often makes me, Dedee, laugh. A lot of times they have me doing things in rehearsal that I end up laughing while trying to do - she is so silly! Question: So you're not married. Hmm... Do you have a boyfriend? Dedee Pfeiffer: No. Just a lot of animals. Question: Do you have any projects coming up soon, films or theater, that we could look for? Dedee Pfeiffer: I have two feature films, hopefully that will come out. The first one is called The Sky is Falling. The other one is Radical Jack. Question: Have you done much theater? Dedee Pfeiffer: Actually I have done three plays. And found them to be incredibly exciting and very scary. But still - more exciting. Question: Do you prefer doing film, TV or theater? Dedee Pfeiffer: Ah! As an actor, I prefer theater. But as a person who needs money, I like TV. And - I love all three. Question: What do you like to do in your spare time? Dedee Pfeiffer: I rescue wild animals. I do a lot of charity work with inner city children. Which I'm very fond of, having no children of my own. And I do fundraisers for cancer and AIDS. And eat Mexican food. Question: Do you think your show is accurate in showing how relationships are in the 90's? Dedee Pfeiffer: I think we're as accurate as you can be being censored. Question: Can you give us any hints on upcoming shows? Dedee Pfeiffer: I would love to, if I knew any! But since I don't, I can't! Question: What advice would you give to an aspiring actress about the business? Dedee Pfeiffer: Study, study and study. And I think it's important to really want it, because the rejection that you will inevitably get you will have to learn how to deal with in a healthy manner. Question: Do you prefer drama or comedy and why? Which do you think is more difficult? Dedee Pfeiffer: I prefer overall, dramedy. Which is the comedy that comes from real drama. And I believe that in a lot of ways comedy is harder because people who are really truly funny are almost always pulling their comedy from a very painful place. TV Guide: Thanks Dedee for chatting with us! We had a great time and hope you come back soon! Dedee Pfeiffer: Goodbye and thank you and Peace!
