| Summary |
Star Cybill Shepherd's real life is the predictable basis for this unpredictable romp through the roller-coaster life of actress Cybill Sheridan. It's a life complicated by an eccentric extended family that includes two ex-husbands, both still very much part of her life, and two daughters, one an irritable 16-year-old, the other a married mother-to-be.
Cybill's forty-something feel-good-one-day, dicey-the-next attitude is made even more trying by all the insecurities that go with being an over-the-hill actress. Yet, she succeeds at being sassy and sexy, with relief from her best friend, Maryann Thorpe, a rich-by-settlement divorcee with a twisted sense of humor. The result is a wonderfully sophisticated, sharp, spicy, beautifully written and wonderfully acted comedy.

| Comments |
Great stuff. Consistently well crafted and a Golden Globe winning series. The character of Maryann (Christine Baranski) is to Absolutely Fabulous standards but I digress. This show gives a regular charge of Dedee playing the "supremely uptight" Rachel. |
